Running from January 22 – 29, the Archdiocesan Campaign “Feeding Our Neighbors” hopes to increase the food available to hungry New Yorkers.

Coordinated by Catholic Charities, our parish is promoting three ways to participate:

1. Make a donation to our second collection Sunday January 29.
2. Participate in our food drive.  Food donations are being accepted at the rectory and school office during normal operating hours for the duration of the campaign.
3. Volunteer at our soup kitchen or  food pantry.  Volunteers should arrive daily by 11 am.

The RM 3 went in to effect today. Thank you to all of our parishioners who spent time preparing for this change. All Masses this weekend went smoothly. We thank you for your continued devotion to the Church.

Join us every Monday during Advent to reflect on the upcoming birth of our savior. Group will meet Monday nights at 7:00pm in the Mooney Room. Please enter through the rectory.

We will be offering a free family workshop October 1 and November 19 from 10am – 2pm.  Parents and children will be guided through the new translation of our beloved mass.  Families interested in participating must register by Wednesday September 28.

We will now celebrate our weekday morning mass at 8:30 am.  Our school children will be attending this mass and so we invite their parents to join them in worship.

Registration for the 2011-2012 year will reopen September 10 (10am-2pm).   Registration will continue throughout the month of September (Monday through Thursday 5-7pm).  There is no registration Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.  Registration fee is $60 for one child.  Siblings receive discounts.

Volunteers needed to assist evacuation shelter located inside Park West High School.  Entrance is at 525 West 50th Street.

Update: Thank you to the parishoners who responded to this call.  The evacuees felt welcome and safe.

ARCHBISHOP DOLAN URGES CAUTION IN FACE OF HURRICANE

In anticipation of the severe weather, we encourage our parishioners to fulfill their Sunday obligation by attending Mass Saturday night (5:00pm English, 7:00pm Spanish).

Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan released a statement today regarding Hurricane Irene which, in part, states:

“…Catholics take Sunday mass very seriously, but the Church never asks us to risk our health or safety to get to church on the Lord’s Day. Please be careful! Do not take any chance with your safety and health if things get dangerous…”
